Monarch NC, a provider of high-quality and trauma-informed care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance use disorders, is seeking a dedicated Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our Crisis team in Lumberton, NC.

This is a PRN position, providing shift coverage on an as-needed basis.

As a Peer Support Specialist, you will support the people we serve to achieve their personal goals while enhancing the development of their natural supports, coping and self-management skills. You will utilize personal experience with mental health or substance abuse issues to assist others in achieving their desired outcomes. You will also emphasize personal safety, self worth, confidence, growth, connection to the community, boundary setting, planning, self advocacy, personal fulfillment, development of social supports, the helper principle, and effective communication skills to the people we serve.

To qualify, candidates must have the following:

*A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
*Candidates must be a Certified Peer Support Specialist for the state of North Carolina (CPSS).
*At least 2 years of experience working with adults with a mental health and/or substance use diagnosis.
