As the Director, Market Development over James Hardie’s Multi-Family Segment,  you will manage new construction and repair & remodel business for exterior siding products focusing on targeting primarily residential multi-family dwellings such as apartments, condominiums, and active adult communities. You will manage the day-to-day business as well as focus on developing and growing the business with new customers and underdeveloped regions. You will report directly to the Sr. Director, New Construction & NPI within the Pro Channel organization, with direct reports and lead a broad cross-functional team working on the segment.

What You’ll Do: 

A day in the life of this job can include the following

  • Develops the strategy and infrastructure for growth within the multi-family segment
  • Short and long-range strategy development and deployment
  • Development and delivery against annual sales volume, pricing, and profit goals
  • Development of and implementation of the following in the multifamily segment:
    • Marketing and sales tool strategy and budgeting
    • Pricing strategy and management
    • New product innovation business case development
    • Competitive analysis and game plans
  • Provides multi-family sales specialist coaching and development
  • Track monthly business results and adjusting strategies and tactics to meet business objectives.
  • Provide direction and partnership with Finance, Marketing, Sales Operations and other departments to provide meaningful reporting, metrics and analyses that deliver key business insights.
  • Understands market conditions and implements competitive strategies and creates business plans to address opportunities and threats.
  • Lead and collaborate with others on the development of multi-channel go-to-market strategies and initiatives such as competitive intelligence, market opportunity assessment, and implementation of key product initiatives.
  • Consult with other key business partners and then implement streamlining systems and processes, as well as remove hurdles to help drive process improvement.
  • Manage direct reports and organizational talent through performance management, succession planning, and individual development.
  • Define and nurture a collaborative and consumer-oriented culture.

 

What You’ll Bring:   

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 15+ years of B to B plus B strategic marketing experience
  • 10+ experience in sales, channel, or product/segment management
  • 5 years’ experience direct or indirect leadership
  • P&L management and experience running a business inside a business within a matrix organization
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%
