We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage the financial records and transactions for our HVAC company. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping within the construction or HVAC industry, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency in accounting software. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial management, supporting operational success, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
• Billing and Invoicing: Prepare and send invoices for HVAC services and projects, track payments, and manage collections.
• Payroll Processing: Process payroll for HVAC technicians and office staff, ensuring accuracy in hours, overtime, and deductions.
• Job Costing: Track and analyze costs related to specific jobs or projects, preparing reports to support management in evaluating profitability.
• Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly, identifying discrepancies and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
• Expense Tracking: Monitor company expenses, categorize transactions, and prepare reports to track spending and budget adherence.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
• Tax Preparation: Assist with tax filings and prepare supporting documentation for the CPA or tax preparer.
• Compliance: Ensure all financial practices comply with company policies, as well as state and federal regulations.
• Administrative Support: Perform additional administrative tasks as needed, including filing, data entry, and assisting with customer inquiries.

• Experience: 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in the construction or HVAC industry.
• Education: Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
• Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with job costing; high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Software Proficiency: Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and other accounting software; experience with HVAC or construction management software is a plus.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Organized & Detail-Oriented: Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Compensation details: 20-30 Hourly Wage
