Position Description:The University of Iowa, School of Social Work seeks an accomplished candidate for an associate or full professor of social work to join our growing programs, beginning on August 20, 2025. Tenured professors hold a 9-month academic year appointment. We are seeking candidates with a strong record of scholarly productivity, including a successful record of external funding, and the potential for program leadership roles.

The School of Social Work offers BA, MSW, and PhD programs at the main campus in Iowa City, and distance education MSW programs around the state of Iowa (Des Moines, Sioux City and an online program). We are growing our programs at all levels. The School is also home to the National Resource Center for Family Centered Practice and the Iowa Consortium for Substance Use Research and Evaluation. Current areas of faculty scholarship include aging; child, family, neighborhood, and community well-being; mental and behavioral health; and family violence.
