Salary range: The current salary range for this position is $103,700-$151,600 (9-month academic year salary), however, off-scale salary and other components of pay, which would yield compensation that is higher than this range, are offered to meet competitive conditions.

Position description The Department of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for one or more tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor rank, 100% time. The field is Open.

The Department of Economics is among the largest teaching and research departments at UC Berkeley, and is consistently ranked among the top five in its field worldwide. The department employs 17 departmental staff, approximately 40 ladder-rank faculty, and maintains a total academic membership of approximately 70 including joint appointments, lecturers, visiting faculty and active emeritus.

Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree) or enrolled in a PhD (or equivalent international) degree-granting program at the time of application.
Preferred qualifications ENTRY LEVEL: Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree) in Economics or a related field completed by date of appointment preferred.
LATERAL LEVEL: Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree) in Economics or a related field; candidates that hold an active tenure-track faculty position.
